Three Salisbury wrestlers competed at this past weekend’s PIAA Southeast Class 2A Regional Tournament at Warwick High School.
As the highest-seeded Falcon entering the tournament, Jarrod Blunt went 1-2 at regionals in the 133-pound bracket.
After a first-round win over Brandywine Heights’ Keegan Bollinger, Blunt fell to the consolation bracket after a 20-4 technical fall defeat against Bishop McDevitt’s Liam Lawler. A 15-5 major decision loss against Halifax’s Jacksin Smith ended his tournament run and hopes of advancing to states.
Blunt was the No. 2 seed at 133 pounds.
Jordan Tocci-Wachter and Jacob Watson also competed at regionals in the 152- and 189-pound brackets, respectively.
Tocci-Wachter came up short in a 19-4 technical fall in his first match against Faith Christian Academy’s Joe Bachmann.
He then fell to Lehighton’s Evan Wentz by way of fall. Bachmann went on to win the 152-pound championship.
Watson dropped his first match against Biglerville’s Gavin Boyd via a 19-2 technical fall, and then came up short in a 5-2 decision against Church Farm School’s Jackson Diver. Boyd placed third in the 189-bound bracket.
