PASC makes changes to cut travel time

The Parkland Area Soccer Club announced a strategic shift for its Spring 2026 Recreation program, moving its teams to the Northern Valley Youth Soccer League to prioritize local play and reduce travel time for families.

It’s the first major move for the new leadership team, consisting of President Chantal Starr and Vice President Kevin Malone.

“We are excited to be playing against other local community programs in the NVYSL,” said Malone. “Some of our regular opponents this season will include Allentown, South Parkland, Lower Macungie, Nazareth, and Salisbury, among several other great local clubs. We are making a conscious effort to focus on true community soccer. Moving to the NVYSL means our families get a great soccer experience with significantly less driving time on the weekends.”

Parents took surveys following the end of last season and they consistently requested more time on the field and less time in the car. The vote was to move the Spring Select program to a league structure that keeps games within the intermediate area.

The move to the NVYSL cuts travel times significantly compared to seasons past and allows teams to face more local opponents. The Spring Select program is open to boys and girls ages U8 and up. The Select program does not require tryouts and focuses on development, fun, and fostering a love for the game.

“The NVYSL is an established, legacy league here in the area,” Malone said. “Our decision to reenter the league this year was entirely driven by feedback from our parents. The competition level is solid and healthy for recreational players, but the real differentiator is the geography.”

Established in 2004, PASC is a nonprofit, volunteer-run organization dedicated to providing high-quality soccer instruction and competition for children in the Parkland area.
