Ketcham takes over Trojan boys lax team
The 2026 season will bring a new face to the helm of the Parkland High School boys lacrosse team, but one the Trojans are familiar with from the past.
Scott Ketcham takes over head coaching duties for PHS this season after previously serving as the head coach at rival Emmaus from 2011-2017.
Ketcham takes over a team that finished last year 16-6 overall and 7-2 in the Eastern Pennsylvania Conference, qualifying for the EPC tournament and finishing runner-up at the District 11 tournament.
Parkland is looking to win its first league or district championship since 2018 when it won both. Defending district and EPC champion Easton will be a threat, along with Central Catholic, Nazareth and Emmaus.
The top returning players for this season’s team include seniors John Gerancher, Rob Gerdes, Matthew Kelly, Daniel Tapia, Drew Shaffer, Collin Winfield, Ethan Leaks, Christian Magloire and Owen Radio, along with Matthew Scott. A couple of newcomers looking to break into the lineup include senior Owen Fehnel, junior Bailey Wettmore and sophomore Colton Arezzi.
“We’re returning seven starters and multiple contributors from a district finalist team determined to make the next step in 2026,” said Ketcham. “We’re led by a high scoring veteran attack and three returning starters on defense, so I think we’re poised to play at a championship level this spring. Despite being new here, I’ve been able to retain key coaches on previous staffs in Cory Andrews and Tyler Morgan from last year and added more coaches to push the team to maximize a very talented group of players.”
Parkland’s season opener against Southern Lehigh was postponed. The Trojans are now set for their season and home opener Thursday against Saucon Valley.
