Hornet hockey team goes 1-0-1 in Feb.

The Emmaus High School ice hockey team had a successful month of February.

While it only hit the ice for two games, the Hornets were unbeaten in both, recording a win and a tie in Lehigh Valley Scholastic Ice Hockey League action.

Emmaus began the month with a come-from-behind tie and then closed out the month with a victory.

Against Northampton, it was a scoreless first period, but the scoring started in the final two frames.

The Kids netted four straight goals in the second period and then Emmaus finally got on the scoreboard in the third period with five goals. Ben Nichols and Aidan Nichols each scored twice and Silas Wellhoener added the fifth in the period.

Both Nichols, Jason Ware and Noah Holschwander all added an assist. The Kids outshot the Hornets 21-14. Cayden Saul finished with 16 saves in net, which is a .762 save percentage.

In the victory over the Blue Eagles, Kaleb Dingler got the scoring going with the only goal in the first period off an assist by Luke Patterson.

But then Nazareth scored back-to-back goals, one to end the second period and one to begin the third.
