Tea and tiaras to benefit ‘Frozen’

Members of Allentown Central Catholic High School’s Theater Program entertained their honored guests at the Royal Tea fundraiser March 14 in Mason Hall Auditorium.

The cast volunteered as princesses, servers, painters and crafters to provide a fun-filled afternoon for their young guests that included photo opportunities, face painting, snowflake and wand making, story time and a parade. The event was sponsored by members of the Class of 1996 Mark Walter and family, Michael Meager and family and the Natalie Scott family. Also from the Class of 1996 and parent volunteer Trish Dilg organized the event this year.

Director Kateri Swavely, assistant director and choreographer Adrienne Motley and the volunteers made sure each guest felt included. Upon arrival, guests received a tiara and were escorted to their tables decorated beautifully with flowered plates and tiers of treats and finger sandwiches. Guests were able to move about the variety of crafts, story time, face painting and pictures at their leisure. Most of the guests came dressed in their favorite princess costume.

All the money raised helps fund the theater production for the spring musical. Tickets are available now at www.acchs.info for this year’s production of Disney’s “Frozen.” Show dates are 7 p.m. April 16 and 17 and 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. April 18.
