Liberty bounces out of state tournament
Liberty’s run in the PIAA tournament came to an end last week at the hands of District One champion Plymouth Whitemarsh.
The Colonials jumped out to a 17-5 lead in the first quarter and never looked back in a 59-46 victory in the round of 16 of the Class 6A tournament.
Liberty committed eight turnovers in the opening frame to help push PW in front and give them a buffer the rest of the game, as they took a 37-17 lead into halftime.
Mani Sajid led the game in scoring with 16 points. Liberty’s Brayden Kashner paced the Hurricanes with 13 points and Jarrell Teague added 11 points with Dylan Bilger rounding out the Hurricanes in double digits with 10 points.
Liberty ends its season with an 18-11 mark.
