Easter Egg Hunt March 27 at community center

The Emmaus High School Jazz Esquires will host the ninth annual middle school jazz festival 5:30 p.m. April 10 at EHS. The famous EHS Band Stand Food Court will offer food for sale. There is an admission fee.

Lower Macungie Township will host an Easter Egg Hunt March 27 at 3450 Brookside Road behind the Lower Macungie Community Center. The hunt begins 6 p.m. sharp. For more information, contact rec@lowermac.org.

Lower Macungie Library hours are 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday. The library will close 5 p.m. April 2 and will be closed April 3 and 4 for spring holiday.

LML Afternoon Book Club will meet 1-2:30 p.m. March 19 to discuss “The Measure” by Nikki Erlick. The book for April 16 is “A Gentleman in Moscow” by Amor Towles. The book club meets at the library.

The Lower Macungie Library Book Club book for 10:30 a.m. to noon April 1 will be “Miss Morgan’s Book Brigade” by Janet Skeslien Charles. The book club meets virtually.

There will be a Hobby Happy Hour for adults 5-7 p.m. April 6. This new monthly social will offer mocktails, snacks and music while you work on your own bring-along project.

There will be a recipe swap and share for adults 6 p.m. April 7 featuring snacks made from scratch.

Paws to Read for K-5 grades 6 p.m. April 8 will feature Lehigh Valley Pet Therapy dogs and their guides.

Books and Beyond will meet 6 p.m. April 13 at Wild Turkey Grill to discuss books, music, movies and more.

The Friends of the Lower Macungie Library Spring Book Sale will be held May 7-9 in the Lower Macungie Library. Donation collection will take place 1-4 p.m. Saturdays, April 11, 18 and 25 at the Friends Shed in the parking lot.

Lower Macungie Middle School will present “The SpongeBob Musical” 7 p.m. March 19, 20 and 21 and 2 p.m. March 21.

The EHS Drama Department will present “Jekyll and Hyde” 7 p.m. March 24, 25, 26, 27 and 28 and 2 p.m. March 28 and 29. There will be a complimentary Gold Card member preview performance 6 p.m. March 23. The Gold Card serves as your ticket. Online ticket sales have begun. Easter Bunny Photo Fun will be offered for children 10 and under 9 a.m. to 11:10 a.m. March 28 at the community center. Registration is required.

Registration for Lower Macungie summer programs is now open. The Summer Playground Program is offered 9 a.m. to noon June 29 through Aug. 14 at Church Lane Park, Hills at Lockridge Park, Quarry Park and Wild Cherry Park.

Camp Lower Mac for children ages 6-12 years old is offered 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. June 15 through Aug. 21 at the community center. Registration for both programs can be found at lowermac.com.

Lower Macungie Pool memberships are available online starting April 1. Swim lesson registration opens April 15. There is a discount on the Family Pool Pass when purchased before May 1.

Habitat Lehigh Valley ReStore will have a Stuff the Truck event at the community center to collect unwanted but new and gently used furniture, appliances and building supplies for resale 9 a.m. to noon April 18.

Lower Macungie Township will hold a Community Day 4-8:30 p.m. May 1 at the community center. This year they will also be celebrating America’s 250th anniversary with fireworks.

There will be a free document shredding event 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 2 at the Lower Macungie Municipal Building parking lot. There is a limit of four medium sized boxes of sensitive material.

Lower Macungie Township with Emmaus Rotary Club and Food Coalition will hold a food drive supporting families of the East Penn School District. Food donations can be dropped off April 1 through June 26 in the lobby of the community center.

The Lower Macungie Township Senior Citizens will meet noon April 7 at the community center. DJ Adam Skuba will provide entertainment. New members are welcome; they must be Lower Macungie Township residents over 60 years old.

Lower Lehigh AARP will meet noon April 2 in the lower level of Macungie Memorial Hall at Macungie Memorial Park. New members are welcome. For more information, contact Dot at 610-967-3284.

The Alburtis Seniors will meet noon April 15 at Church of the Good Shepherd, 135 Quarry Road, Alburtis. There will be a potluck buffet lunch followed by a meeting and bingo. There is a small charge. Bring a covered dish. For more information, call Doris at 610-966-3653.

Lower Macungie offers garden plot rentals on Bogie Avenue. Those who rented plots last year can now renew their plot rental for 2026. Plots are available to rent on a first come, first served basis for residents and nonresidents. Contact the community center for more information.

Yard waste center hours for March and April are noon-5 p.m. Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Yard waste permits are required for drop-off. The center is located at 5536 Indian Creek Road, Macungie.
