Coplay: Invite your friends to church

St. John’s Lutheran Church, 18 S. Third St., is holding Friendship Sunday at the worship service March 22. Every friend and member who brings someone and others who consider joining the church will receive a small gift, courtesy of Louise Hash and St. John’s evangelism committee.

American Club of Coplay will be holding its annual ham raffle 1 p.m. March 22. There will be free lunch and refreshments for ticket holders.

Many other prizes will be available on the day. You must be present to win door prizes.

Coplay Garden Club is anticipating warmer weather! The next meeting is set for 7 p.m. March 26 in the social hall of St. John’s Lutheran Church.

Grass only can be dropped off at 1 Bridge St. Beginning April 3, brush and branch pickup begins.

Call the borough office at 610-262-6088 to schedule pickup of sofas, plastic-encased mattresses, chairs, dressers, etc. There is a limit of two per year at no charge.

The borough community egg hunt will be held 1 p.m. March 29 at Saylor Field. The rain date is April 4.

Age groups are 0-3, 4-6 and 7-10. Prizes and gift bags will be provided.

The We Squeeze to Please food truck will be in the social hall parking lot at 165 Cherry St.

Coplay Recreation and Welfare’s annual egg hunt is set for 1 p.m. April 4 at St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, 4 S. Fifth St. It is a rain-or-shine event.

The Easter Bunny will be there for free photos. Join the fun at the oldest egg hunt in Coplay. Everyone present gets a gift.

The borough is hiring a pool manager, lifeguards and gate guards. Applications are available 8 a.m.-3:30 p.m. at the municipal office, 98 S. Fourth St.

Coplay Food Bank, located in the lower level of the municipal building, is open 8:30-10 a.m. the second Tuesday of every month.

If unable to attend the scheduled Tuesday morning time frame, call Jodi at 610-262-0928 to make other arrangements.

The food bank needs coffee, spaghetti sauce and noodles, canned pasta, rice pouches and non-sweetened dry cereals. Monetary donations are always accepted.

The Coplay aerobics classes now meet 9:30 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, 8:45 a.m. Saturdays and 7 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays in the borough hall auditorium. There is a cost by donation.

Bring light dumbbells, a towel and a mat to enhance your workout.
