Catasauqua: Play bingo March 22

Whitehall Active Community Center, 2301 Pine St., will be holding bingo 1 p.m. March 22. Doors open noon.

Bingo will continue with tricky tray, 50/25/25 raffle, piggy number, lightning game, etc. There will be refreshments available for purchase.

Bring a donation of a nonperishable food item, pet food or paper product, such as facial tissues, paper towels or toilet paper, for Whitehall Food Pantry and receive a strip of specials to be played on the first four specials.

Reserving a seat is not necessary, but if you wish to do so, call or text 610-533-1357.

Catasauqua Community Thrift Shop, 113 Bridge St., will be holding a bag sale from March 23 to April 2.

The thrift shop will be closed for Easter April 3 and 4. Changeover from fall and winter clothing to spring and summer clothing will take place April 6-8. The shop will reopen with all new clothing for spring and summer April 9.

The shop is happy to accept donations of good, used, clean clothing, household items and toys during regular shop hours. The store is open 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays and then 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Proceeds from the thrift shop are returned to the community through contributions that support youth and adult programs and services.

Holy Trinity Memorial Lutheran Church, 604 Fourth St., will be having its last Warm Up Wednesday soup dinner of the season 4-6 p.m. March 25. This is for all Catasauqua residents and a time for some camaraderie for all.

Catty Seniors Plus will hold its next meet March 25 at Slovak Center Social Hall, 1233 Fifth St., North Catasauqua.

Doors open noon, and the meeting starts 1 p.m.

This month is sign-ups for the April meeting. Coffee, tea and desserts will be served, and bingo will be played.

St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 122 Union St., will hold its annual basket social 4-7 p.m. March 27, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. March 28 and from 9 a.m. to noon March 29. Ticket sheets contain 26 chances.

St. Mary’s will also hold a Lenten grab-and-go in conjunction with the basket social, with pickup set for 4-7 p.m. March 27. This is a preorder event.

Available for purchase will be homemade macaroni and cheese with stewed tomatoes or cabbage and noodles. Additional sides of stewed tomatoes will be available for purchase as well.
