“It was and still is the most delicious cake I’ve ever tasted. I believe it was three layers of soft vanilla cake that had a touch of almond extract and possibly cream cheese rolled in and then baked. But so soft and fluffy.
“Then the layers of cake had strawberry filling in between, but not fake sugar strawberry filling that people usually cheat with out of a can. She took [real] strawberries and carefully sliced them, placed them in a honey sugar solution, and let them sit for two days to make her own strawberry filling glory!
“Then she made a butter cream vanilla frosting that wasn’t overly sweet. She frosted each layer of cake on the inside then placed strawberries on top of the icing so the strawberry juices didn’t seep through the cake layers. Then she stacked it up three layers and iced the whole cake.”
