EHS names student of the week

Q. Please provide the first names of your family members: parents, siblings and pets.

A. Keri and John Schaadt (parents), Eli Schaadt (brother), Willow (dog), Zip and Chloe (cats).

Q. As a senior, do you have any specific goals you will pursue this academic year?

A. My goal for this academic year is to maintain my grades, while also being able to enjoy my last high school experiences. I want to focus on creating memories with my friends, as well as finishing my extracurriculars on a high note.

Q. What is your favorite class at Emmaus High School? Why?

A. My favorite class at Emmaus High School was AP Physics 1. I am not typically a science person and tend to stick to the humanities and social studies, but I ended up loving this class my junior year. I enjoyed connecting math and science to real-world applications and my class with Mr. Kistler was always interesting and something I looked forward to.

Q. Have you received any special awards or recognition?

A. I have been on Principal’s Honor Roll every year throughout my high school career. I have been awarded the 2024 EHS Service Above Self Award, AP Scholar with Distinction, and am a member of National Honor Society, National Spanish Honor Society and Science National Honor Society. Along with this, I won first place in the 2024 Debate District Finals, was a part of the 2025 Girls Lacrosse EPC Runner-up title and placed second in the 2026 EPC Mock Trial Competition, as well as winning the Mock Trial Best Witness Award three times. I also was selected as the Eastern Pennsylvania delegate for the Federal Bureau of Investigation National Academy Youth Leadership Program, to which I attended in Quantico, Va. in June 2024.

Q. Are you involved in any extracurricular activities? How has being involved in this these organizations impacted your high school experience?

A. I have served as class president for the past four years. I am also vice captain of the debate team, president of Key Club, and podcast editor and deputy sports editor of The Stinger. I am a member of the mock trial team, a Hornet Ambassador, a freshman mentor and a defender on the girls lacrosse team. I also serve on the junior board of a local nonprofit called Camelot for Children, as well as work at Lehigh Country Club as a busser. Being involved in these organizations has allowed me to interact with many different communities and different people within those communities. I have been able to gain a more open-minded and well-rounded perspective from others, helping me to support and give back to my communities.

Q. What do you consider your biggest challenge to date?

A. My biggest challenge to date has been finding enough time and effort to be able to manage all of the things I have wanted to do throughout high school.

Q. At this time, what are your plans for the future beyond high school?

A. After high school, I plan to attend a 4-year college to study government/political science. From there, I hope to work for the government in national security and intelligence.

Q. If you could spend an evening conversing with an historically significant person, whom would you choose? Why?

A. I would choose to converse with Sandra Day O’Connor. I would gain her insight on being a woman in a male-dominated field and ask how she remained moderate in her own political views for the sake of the country.

Q. For what would you like to be remembered?

A. I want to be remembered as someone who always tried to make others feel more comfortable or laugh in stressful situations.

Q. Do you have any advice for your peers?

A. My advice for my peers would be to try hard things and get uncomfortable. Learning to push yourself beyond what you think you can do is the only way to truly teach yourself what you are capable of.
