Richard J. Schwartz, 89, of Fullerton, died March 6, 2026, at the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. He was the husband of Carol A. (Kedl) Schwartz for 48 years.

Born in Stiles, he was a son of the late Joseph J. and Mary T. (Schimenek) Schwartz.

He was vice president of the Northampton High School Class of 1954 and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree from Moravian College, now University, in 1958.

He was inducted into the Moravian University Sports Hall of Fame for his baseball efforts.

He was a member of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Roman Catholic Church.

He enjoyed life memberships at American Club of Coplay and Northampton Liederkranz. Earlier in life, he was a member of Fullerton American Legion Post 367.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a sister, Patricia Berner of Hanover Township; a brother, Joseph with wife Arlene of Kriedersville; three nieces, Pamela, Michele and Melissa; and three nephews, Dr. Edward, Joseph and Gregory.

He was predeceased by a brother-in-law, Alfred Berner.

There will be a calling time 9-9:45 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian burial 10 a.m., March 13 at the church, 618 Fullerton Ave., Whitehall, 18052.

Contributions may be made to the church or to the Post, 609 Fullerton Ave., Whitehall, 18052.

Arrangements were made by Gilbert Funeral Home Inc., Whitehall.
