Northampton Area Public Library: Community invited to attend March 12 library board meeting

As a community, your input is important to us. Feel free to join us for our regularly scheduled board meeting 6:30 p.m. March 12 in the community room.

Miss Tessa is hosting a family storytime 4 p.m. March 12 for children up to age 10. We hope you can join us!

The Sugar ‘n’ Spice Romance Book Club with Sadie will meet both 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. March 18 to discuss “Until the End of Time” by Danielle Steel.

If you don’t have time to read the book this month, join us anyway for scintillating discussion on the romance genre and to share trope preferences among like minds.

STEAM Club for grades 3-5 will continue 6 p.m. March 19. STEAM Club will be making slime, the bane of every adult and the joy of every child. Parents, prepare yourselves!

There’s still time to register, so make sure you secure your spot now.

Plot Twisters, a psychological thrillers book club hosted by Lily, will meet March 23 to discuss “The Girl from Widow Hills” by Megan Miranda. Registration is requested.

The Well-Read, Badly Behaved Book Club is set to meet both 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. March 24 to discuss “The Paris Library” by Janet Skeslien Charles.

Based on the true story of American Library in Paris employees during World War II, this work of literary fiction is described as moving and unforgettable.

The Friends of NAPL are hosting a desk raffle through the end of the month. The prize is a basket full of spring items for gardening, playing outside and relaxing, beautifully displayed by Bonnie.

The next Friends meeting is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. March 24 in the meeting room.

A teen blackout poetry event will be 4 p.m. March 25. Blackout poetry is amazing and incredibly easy. Simply choose words on a typed page that resonate with you and how you’re feeling, then black out the rest with a marker. It’s an easy, yet very effective, way to express yourself.

For youth in grades K-2, storycraft is back. Join us 5 p.m. March 26.

Registration is requested.

For families and friends of all ages, we will be bringing back our community puzzle 1 p.m. March 28. Join us for a chance to work on the puzzle first or play board games and card games together while you wait your turn.

Hourlong Dungeons and Dragons campaigns are encouraged.

If you don’t like the list of games in our catalog, feel free to bring your own and help instruct others.

Once Upon a Crime will be meeting 6 p.m. March 30 to discuss a serial killer case. Registration is requested.

Interested in true crime? Feel free to discuss other cases as well. Sensitive to violence? Please choose another activity.

Craft kit registration is open for teens. If you didn’t have a chance to register for this month’s craft kit, feel free to join us with next month’s craft kit for wildflower seed bombs.

Storytime with Miss Tessa will be back March 24 through the end of the month.

Lapsit storytime, for ages 0-24 months, is 10:30 a.m. Tuesdays; toddler storytime, for ages 18-36 months, is 10 a.m. Wednesdays, with Stay and Play 10:30 a.m.; and preschool storytime, for ages 3-5 years, is 11 a.m. Thursdays.

Have multiple children among different age groups? Choose which storytime session works best for you.

A reminder to all those with technology in their lives: If you have any uncertainties or concerns or if you simply want to learn more about your technology and how to best use it, sign up for a one-on-one tech tutoring session.

Our wonderful and patient volunteers, Marty and Dylan, want to help. Sign up with Marty from 9 a.m. to noon Saturdays or with Dylan 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Mondays. Sessions are free.
