North Catasauqua: Monthly food drive set for March 13 at Presbyterian church

Presbyterian Church of Catasauqua, 210 Pine St., will be holding its next monthly food drive 10 a.m.-noon March 13 in the parking lot.

Drive through to donate your nonperishable food items to benefit Catasauqua Community Food Bank.

A Catasauqua-area St. Patrick’s Day pub crawl will kick off 5 p.m. March 14, spanning 10 sites in North Catasauqua and Catasauqua boroughs. The event includes drink specials, featured cocktails and Irish beers, contests, giveaways and more.

You must be 21 years of age and older to participate. Passports for a chance to win prizes can be picked up at participating locations.

Borough residents are invited to a Scam Jam with fraud bingo 10 a.m.-noon March 14 at Union United Church of Christ, 5550 Route 873, Neffs. With the uptick in scam calls, texts and emails, there’s no better time to learn how to spot and avoid financial frauds and scams.

The event is open to senior citizens and is hosted by state Rep. Zach Mako. Light refreshments will be provided, and reservations are required.

Presbyterian Church of Catasauqua’s next free community lunch is set for 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. March 16.

The church is also accepting donations for the Roughie Pantry to “love our school-aged neighbors.” The pantry is accepting shampoo, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes, soap, body wash, tampons, sanitary napkins, etc.

The next North Catasauqua Borough Council meeting will take place 7 p.m. March 16 in the basement-level meeting room at borough hall, 1066 Fourth St.

The J4 Committee is looking for new members and volunteers to help organize the North Catasauqua/Catasauqua J4 Celebration and Mega Reunion. The event will be held July 4 at Catasauqua Park and Playground, 501 American St. The rain date is July 5.

The next committee meeting will be 6:30 p.m. March 19 at North Catasauqua Borough Hall. If interested, email cattyareaJ4@gmail.com and provide your contact information.

The J4 Committee is also looking for crafters and flea market vendors for the event. Interested vendors can email historiccatasauqua@gmail to receive a registration form.

The Catasauqua High School 2026 mega reunion committee is looking for volunteers to help with event planning, sharing ideas and raising funds for this event. The committee is also seeking contact people from each graduating class to spread the word to your classmates.

Holy Trinity Memorial Lutheran Church, 604 Fourth St., Catasauqua, is holding a chicken Marsala dinner March 21 with 4:30 p.m., 5 p.m., 5:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. seating times. The cost is by donation.

The dinner menu includes chicken Marsala, rice pilaf, green beans and pudding for dessert.

Catasauqua Community Thrift Shop, 113 Bridge St., will have a half-price sale on everything in the shop until March 21.

The shop’s regular hours are 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays and 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Any donations to the thrift shop must be written to Catasauqua Community Partnership or CCPI due to banking regulations.

Holy Trinity Memorial Lutheran Church will be holding its Warm Up Wednesday gatherings 4-6 p.m. each Wednesday until March 25. This is a free soup night and everyone in the Catasauqua area is welcome.

This is a way for the community to get together to share a friendly meal and time and is a nontraditional worship gather experience.

St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 122 Union St., Catasauqua, is holding its basket social 4-7 p.m. March 27-29.

The church will also hold a Lenten grab-and-go in conjunction with the basket social, with pickup set for March 27. Pickup will take place during the same hours as the basket social. This is a preorder event.

Available for purchase will be homemade macaroni and cheese with stewed tomatoes or cabbage and noodles. Additional sides of stewed tomatoes will be available for purchase as well. There is a cost per meal.

Browse the basket social in the parish center and then pickup dinner to go.

The annual North Catasauqua small Town USA Easter egg hunt will take place noon March 28 at Catasauqua Park and Playground. The rain date is March 29.

Holy Trinity Memorial Lutheran Church is having a free community egg hunt event 10 a.m. April 4. The event will be held rain or shine.

An egg hunt will take place for children ages 1-6 years, and bingo will take place for children ages 1-12. An adult must stay with each child.

Reservations are required, and space is limited.

The J4 Committee will hold a basket raffle and bingo April 25 at Catasauqua American Legion Post 215, 330 Second St. Doors open noon, and bingo begins 1 p.m. T-shirts will also be sold at the event as an additional fundraiser. The event benefits the J4 America 250 celebration in July.

The borough will hold a recycling event for residents May 12 at the public works complex, 1460 Main St. More information will be available soon.

The annual North Catasauqua Community Day is scheduled for 5-8 p.m. May 29 at North Catasauqua William J. Albert Memorial Park, 701 Grove St. This is a chance to meet local police officers, see some awesome demonstrations, grab great food and enjoy a day with the community at the park.

Bring your family, friends, appetite and community spirit. The event is hosted by North Catasauqua Police Association.
