James Warren Herbold Jr.

of Allentown

James Warren Herbold Jr., 76, of Allentown, died March 6, 2026, at Lehigh Valley Hospital – Cedar Crest, Salisbury Township. He was the husband of Barbara L. (Kline) Herbold and they would have celebrated 54 years of marriage this June. Born in Bethlehem, he was the son of the late James W. Herbold Sr. and Alice (Hauser) Herbold.

He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and he was employed as a machinist at U.S. Gauge for 32 years until his retirement.

He attended Foundation Reformed Church, Coopersburg and volunteered for Wreaths Across America. He was a Sunday school teacher, a youth group leader and Christian Service Brigade leader.

He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a devout Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles fan as well as the Lehigh Valley Phantoms and IronPigs.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by son, Jeff; daughter, Jamie Bittner and her husband, Troy; grandchildren, Austin, Amber; great-grandchildren, Anthony, Jensen; sister, Susan Hartman and her husband, Terry.

He was predeceased by his infant son, Christopher.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. March 13 at Foundation Reformed Church, 234 S. Main St., Coopersburg, 18036. A calling hour will be held 10-11 a.m. in the church.
