FREEDOM NEWS By Jessica Mooney
As Freedom’s family moves into the second semester, our school community has merely stayed focused, motivated, and ready to build off of the successes of the first half of the year. The start of this semester brings new academic goals, fresh opportunities and a renewed sense of determination among students and staff.
With AP exams creeping up, students enrolled in Advanced Placement courses have officially entered review season. Many AP classes are starting to host after-school review sessions and encouraging peer study groups to strengthen their understanding of some major key concepts. Students are not only reviewing material but also learning strategies for managing time and analyzing prompts effectively. The focus is clear for the Patriots: preparation, confidence and performance.
Meanwhile, spring sports are officially underway with tryouts and pre-season practices beginning all around, helping to bring a new level of excitement and school spirit. The start of spring athletics always brings renewed energy to Freedom, with students showing up to support games, matches and meets as the weather warms up.
We also recently welcomed families to Spring Open House, which was a meaningful opportunity to showcase the incredible work happening inside our classrooms. Parents and guardians had the chance to meet teachers, explore course expectations and view numerous after-school clubs. Open House not only helped strengthen communication between home and school but also highlighted the academic rigor that defines our second semester. It was encouraging to see strong family engagement and pride in student accomplishments.
Seniors have been celebrating exciting college acceptances as decision letters continue to arrive. From highly selective universities to strong state schools, the class of 2026 is earning recognition for its hard work and perseverance. Counselors have supported students through applications, scholarship submissions and financial aid processes, helping them navigate this important transition.
Overall, the second semester is the season of growth and preparation. Freedom’s family is united as one as we are so close to entering the final stretch.
