Two job employment opportunities with Lower Milford Township available

Lower Milford Township is welcoming applications for two positions.

Applications, cover letters and resumes will be accepted through March 16 for the full-time position of zoning officer and planning administrator/administrative assistant.

Applicants are asked to have an undergraduate degree in land use or related field as well as municipal government experience and strong computer, organizational and communication skills. Additional details and job description information is available through the township website.

Applications also are being accepted for a public works worker.

Upper Milford Township residents ready to get in the (golf) swing of spring may want to visit their home library, the Emmaus Public Library, March 6 and March 7 for the sixth annual Tee Time at the Library fundraiser.

Enthusiasts will play 18 holes of mini golf in the library, 11 E. Main St., Emmaus.

A family-friendly event is scheduled 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 7. Adults 21 and older may play 6-9 p.m. March 6.

There is a cost for tickets. The March 6 event is adults only.

The Southern Lehigh Public Library, 3200 Preston Lane, Center Valley, will host a nature program with the Lehigh County Conservation District 10-11 a.m. March 16 for library patrons. The free program is family-friendly. Registration is required.

March is national Women’s History Month and the Friends of the Southern Lehigh Public Library will offer a program on Rosie the Riveter, a World War II iconic symbol of women’s empowerment, 7 p.m. March 11 at the library to help mark the occasion.

David Nowack of the Lehigh Valley Historical Society will lead the program.

There is a cost for tickets.

Upcoming Friends of SLPL events include the programs “Queen Elizabeth II: Presented by character actor Alisa Dupuy” scheduled 7 p.m. April 8 and “An Evening of Irish Music: Presented by Ken Purcell and Jack Laubach” scheduled 7 p.m. May 13.

If you’re preparing for spring in your garden, mark your calendar for the annual plant sale at the The Seed Farm, 5854 Vera Cruz Road.

The sale is scheduled 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 9 and 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 10.

The sale features vegetable, herb and flower starter plants grown using organic practices.
