Healing Arts Program presents artwork to Moser Nursing Home

Nature has shown to have a calming and restorative effect, especially in health care settings.

Pat Wolanski, president of Garden Club Federation of PA initiated a Healing Arts Project encouraging clubs in Pennsylvania to place works of art into health care facilities.

Recently, the Parkland Garden Club presented nine pieces of art to Mosser Nursing Home, 1175 Mosser Road, Trexlertown.

Karen and Larry Pimble donated photos of cone flowers and an abstract painting of flowers, part of collection taken by George Geissler, a photographer from the Schnecksville area.

Debbie Gault’s painting entitled “Moon” will be placed in the dining room.

Gault is a member of the Parkland Garden Club.

Cindy Haenn, a Parkland Garden Club member, donated two canvas photos of garden settings.

One large painting of a large stone farmhouse entitled “Making Hay” by Andrew Peters was also donated by Karen and Larry Pimble.

Activities Director Diane Zito, of Mosser Nursing Home, was delighted to have the artwork placed around the facility.

To celebrate the donation of the artwork, Parkland Garden Club members went to Mosser Nursing Home and shared the artwork with the residents along with refreshments.

If anyone knows of a health care facility who would like some nature art to brighten their facility, contact Barbara Campbell at 610-432-3313 or barbarac45@aol.com.
