Sheckler News: Last chance for Scholastic book fair purchases

The Scholastic book fair will continue at Sheckler Elementary School until March 5. To create an eWallet, visit scholastic.com/bf/francishshecklerelemsch.

A Literacy Luau Title I event, in connection with the book fair, will be held 5:30-7:30 p.m. March 5 in the cafeteria, gymnasium and classrooms.

The board of education will next meet 7 p.m. March 10 in the administration offices of the district building, 201 N. 14th St.

Fourth grade’s science fair has been rescheduled for 5:30-7 p.m. March 19.

If you need to drop off projects, do so 3:20-5 p.m. March 18 or 7:15-8:15 a.m. March 19.

Students will be off from school March 20 for a teacher in-service.

Sheckler Elementary Home and School Association is having a dine-and-donate night at Grove Street Pub and Grill, 1092 Howertown Road, North Catasauqua, 5-9 p.m. March 24. Enjoy a meal while supporting Sheckler, with 10% of dine-in sales, excluding alcohol, donated to the association.

CONTRIBUTED PHOTOSSheckler Elementary School students and their families fill tables for the Cocoa and Canvas event, held Feb. 11 at the school, 251 N. 14th St., Catasauqua.
At the second annual event, art teacher Mrs. Resto guided participants through the process of painting a penguin while they also enjoyed a cup of hot chocolate.
This group of participants is all smiles as they work on their penguin creations.
Another table is eager to complete their final art pieces.
