Jean L. Silva, “Gigi” 82, of Lower Macungie Township, died Feb. 23, 2026, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown. She was the wife of the late Richard A. Silva for 56 years. Born in Manhattan, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Edward and Carmela (Tortorella) Cataneo.

She worked as a secretary for many years and then as a licensed Realtor for Coldwell Banker where she was consistently a top producer and member of the NJAR Million Dollar Sales Club.

She was an active member of her community at Four Seasons Adult Community, Macungie and a member of St. Thomas More Roman Catholic Church, Allentown.

She loved cooking, baking (especially with grandchildren during the holidays), entertaining guests, playing cards and dominoes, the Yankees, Penn State University football and hockey, NFL football, shopping with her daughter and getting their nails done, but most of importantly, her family and dear friends.

She wanted everyone to know that her faith, family and dear friends have blessed her during this difficult time.

She is survived by children, Valerie (Jeff) Bitzer, of Monroe, N.Y., Richard V. (Abby), of Elk Grove, Calif; grandchildren, Daniel (Heaven’s Angel), Christina, Tyler, Claire, Gabby, Gianna; close family friend, Maureen Gwynne-Silva.

A Mass at St. Thomas More Church, 1040 Flexer Avenue, Allentown, PA will be held 11 a.m. March 20 and a private service will be held at Maryrest Cemetery, Mahwah, N.J., at a later date.
