SCHOOL FUNDRAISER: The Northwestern Elementary Scholarship Committee is sponsoring a summer bus trip to New York City on July 11. The bus will depart NWE parking lot at approximately 7:30 a.m. and depart Bryant Park in NYC at 7:30 p.m. There is a cost per person. They will be offering a limited number of optional group rate orchestra seating tickets to “Chicago” the musical for a 2:30 p.m. matinee show at the Ambassador. EMMAUS CHORALE: The Emmaus Chorale is seeking additional voices for its spring concert, “Shalom.” Weekly rehearsals began at 7 p.m. March 2 at Faith Presbyterian Church, 3002 N. Second St., Emmaus, and will culminate in a public concert there at 3 p.m. June 7. All voice parts are welcome, particularly low voice. This non-auditioned community choir is based in Emmaus and is open to participants throughout the Lehigh Valley.
The Emmaus Choral, led by director Donald Ryan, will present a varied choral spring concert on the theme of “Shalom” meaning peace. Works by Dolly Parton, Moses Hogan, John Rutter, Maurice Duruflé and others along with selections from “Wicked” and “West Side Story” will be performed. SUMMER CAMP: Hawk Mountain Sanctuary invites families to plan ahead for an unforgettable summer of outdoor exploration with its 2026 Summer Nature Camps. Designed for youth in grades one through five, these weeklong day camps will immerse children in the natural world through hands-on, educational, and fun-filled experiences on the Mountain.
All camps run Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. June 15 - Aug. 7.
Led by professional environmental educators, Hawk Mountain’s camps prioritize small group sizes to ensure optimal teacher-student ratios and meaningful learning experiences. Each day is packed with themed activities that may include meeting live animal ambassadors, hiking Sanctuary trails, conducting experiments, creating art and crafts, role-playing, storytelling, and learning from scientists and special guest presenters. CAMP CADET: State Police Troop M, Bethlehem, have announced its annual Camp Cadet program will be held June 7 to 12, at Camp Fowler, 5851 Horseshoe Road, Orefield. The camp is an overnight summer program for boys and girls between the ages of 12-15. Its goal is to introduce them to the diverse criminal justice system and to establish a positive relationship between law enforcement and youths, while living in an atmosphere similar to an actual State Police Academy.
