Mama’s Musings
Sometimes life can be a comedy of challenges. I went into Friday morning in a good mood. Unfortunately, an incident at my day job bent my glasses. My eyesight isn’t great, and the bend in my glasses made my worse eye, the left over compensated for by the better right one.
I left work with a headache.
Then I started my car. Low air pressure warning. The last time that happened, it was the weather. Since the weather was moist and messy, I assumed that it was the same problem. So I went to the eye doctor.
Thankfully, after a bit of a struggle, the glasses were back in their proper shape and fit. Many thanks to Vick at My Eye Dr. on Broad Street.
The headache faded, and we went to see the East Hills musical. Great show! Mike Faccianeto, head of the BASD School Board, made the beautiful sets.
The next morning, I woke up early. My older son had charged the portable air compressor for me. I was making coffee when things went sideways again. My older son called and wanted a ride to work. I brought the compressor. Good thing, because my driver’s side rear tire was flat. It took me several minutes to get the compressor attached to put air in the tire. By then, my older son had walked to work.
I went home and came back a bit later to make sure the air was holding. It was, so I went directly to Joe’s Tire on Union Street. While I waited, I texted my ex to ask what his plans were for dropping my youngest son off on Sunday evening if the weather was bad. He was unconcerned.
Ninety minutes later, which is normal on a Saturday, they found a screw in the tire, and they were able to patch the tire. I was just glad I was able to get there.
An hour later, my youngest son and I went to cover the Polar Plunge at Coca-Cola Park. I was worried we had missed a lot, but they were running late, too.
My youngest was happy to see the Doughnut NV truck. So he enjoyed doughnuts while I took a lot of photos. It worked out well.
Then we came home. I had wanted to stop and buy milk, but I decided it was better to just be home. After 24 hours of excitement, home was exactly what I needed.
