B. Braun device inventor

Gary Lee Horner, 77, of Bethlehem, died of kidney failure Feb. 22, 2026. He was born in Baltimore, Md., to Verna and Donald Horner, a homemaker and cameraman, respectively.

After serving in the Army during the Vietnam War, he returned home and began a career in sales and marketing at B. Braun Medical. He invented several important medical devices and eventually ascended to the position of vice president of International Sales and Marketing.

He loved to drive motorcycles and fly ultralight aircrafts, and he was a fearless flyer in all types of weather.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by children Anya, Scott and Eric; and his sister, Carol.
