Freedom and Liberty’s girls basketball teams competed in the District XI Class 6A tournament on Feb. 20 at Catasauqua High School.
Sixth-seeded Liberty fell to third-seeded Emmaus, 65-37, in a revenge playoff game for the Hornets.
Last year, the Hurricanes knocked the Hornets out of districts, but Emmaus’ Gabby DeVita and Olive Whitney combined for 34 points to claim the quarterfinal victory.
Hurricane scorers were Ava Kopetskie (14), Chloe Rumelhart (8), Emma Miller (6), Addy Smith (6), and DeLaney Foster (3).
Seventh-seeded Freedom lost to second-seeded Parkland, 53-18.
Emmaus and Parkland will have faced off in a district semifinal on Feb. 24.
Bethlehem Catholic will compete in the Class 5A tournament, which is scheduled to begin on Feb. 25 when the Golden Hawks will face Bangor.
