District News: NASD students to compete at regional Odyssey tournament

Students from Lehigh Elementary School, Moore Elementary School, Siegfried Elementary School, Northampton Area Middle School and Northampton Area High School are participating in the 2026 NEPA Odyssey of the Mind regional tournament Feb. 28 at Pocono Mountain West High School.

Pocono Mountain School District is hosting the tournament for the 16th time since 2009, according to a NEPA Odyssey of the Mind news release.

“Some 450 students from 28 schools and organizations will go head-to-head. Odyssey of the Mind teams spend the school year designing a solution to their ‘problems’ to present at competitions held around the world each spring. All elements of each team’s solution must be original creations of the students. Their creations must accomplish goals within specific guidelines and a strict budget,” the news release stated.

“Top performers at the regional tournament will advance to Pennsylvania state finals at Pocono Mountain East March 28. Those state finalists will compete for the chance to represent northeast Pennsylvania at the Odyssey of the Mind world finals at Iowa State University in May,” according to the release.

The tournament is open to the public and free to attend.

Good luck to our Northampton Area School District students participating!
