Anthony Pentz

formerly of Emmaus

Anthony J. Pentz, 92, formerly of Emmaus, died Feb. 22, 2026, at Fellowship Manor, Whitehall. He was the husband of the late Anne Marie (Bauer) Pentz. Born in Lebanon, Pa., he was the son of the late John F. Pentz and Magdalena Theresa (Klein) Pentz.

He proudly served in the U.S. Army and graduated from the Chemical Corps School in Fort McClellan, Ala. He also attended Post Chemical School at Fort Meade. He earned his certificate in industrial chemical engineering at Wyomissing Polytechnic Institute in 1953 and he was a participant in nuclear weapons testing at the Nevada Testing Grounds in 1955. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering from Pennsylvania State University in 1959.

He worked as a color technology manager at Teknor Color Co. in Pawtucket, R.I., retiring in 1996. He previously worked as a group leader at Rohm & Haas Co. in Bristol, and an assistant quality control manager at The Glidden Co., now ICI, in Reading.

He was a former member of the Society of Plastic Engineers, Chairman of the Color and Appearance Division. He was the president of the Delaware Valley Section and chairman of various committees. He was the recipient of the DCMA Award and he was a former member of the Intersociety Color Council, chairman of Problem Subcommittee 36, Industrial Color Tolerances.

He was a member of the board of directors and legislative committee chairman of AARP Allentown West Chapter #3331. Since his retirement, he taught fundamentals of coloring plastics to the Lehigh Valley industries. He was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Emmaus, where he served as a Lector and Commentator.

He is survived by daughters, Kathleen Marie, Susan Roccato; son, Michael; three grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Feb. 28 at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, 415 S. Sixth Street, Emmaus.
