Alice J.P. Bastian
Alice J.P. (Otto) Bastian, 92, of New Tripoli, died peacefully at home Feb. 20, 2026. She was the wife of the late Preston H. Bastian. Born in Cetronia, she was the daughter of the late Herman and Bertha (Trexler) Otto, Sr.
She was a 1951 graduate of the former South Whitehall High School.
She was an administrative assistant for the former president of Air Products in Trexlertown. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Breinigsville.
She served as a past president of Blue Spruce Riding Club in Alburtis. She was a former volunteer for the Cetronia Ambulance Corp for 10 years and was a former volunteer for the Cedar Church Girl Scout Troop in Cetronia.
She is survived by her daughter, Jennie R. Hower and significant other, Phil Ivins, of Lehighton; granddaughter, Alicia and her husband, Joseph Becker, of Upper Macungie; brother-in-law, Robert, of Upper Macungie; sisters-in-law, Dorothy O’Connors, of Wescosville, Nancy Otto, of Upper Macungie.
She was predeceased by her siblings, Beatrice Gross, Herman Otto Jr.
Her memorial service will be held Feb. 28, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 8227 Hamilton Blvd., Breinigsville. The calling hour will begin 10 a.m. followed by her service 11 a.m. Pastor Ginny Goodwin and Vicar Jeremiah T. Heydt will officiate.
