Area residents earn recognition
Bethlehem area resident Victoria Horvath was named to The University of Alabama dean’s list for Fall Semester 2025.
A total of 15,388 students enrolled during Fall Semester 2025 at The University of Alabama were named to the dean’s list with an academic record of 3.5 (or above) or the president’s list with an academic record of 4.0 (all A’s). These driven students are making waves across UA’s more than 70 undergraduate programs and 12 colleges and schools.
Stephanie Donato of Bethlehem has been named to Ursinus College’s Fall 2025 Provost’s List in recognition of academic excellence.
Donato is among 692 students who have achieved this honor.
Ursinus College is proud to recognize academic excellence by naming high-achieving students to the provost’s list. This prestigious honor recognizes full-time students who have achieved a GPA of 3.5 or higher and is a testament to students’ dedication to academic excellence.
Wilson College is pleased to announce that Emma Roset of Bethlehem has been named to the dean’s list for the spring 2025 semester.
The dean’s list contains the names of those students whose grade-point average for the work of the semester has been 3.5 or higher and who have completed at least 12 semester hours for the semester, at least nine of which received a letter grade.
Bilwa Satishkumar Patel of Bethlehem has been named to the Spring 2025 Presidential Honor List at New York Institute of Technology.
The University at Albany has recognized Abigail Backman of Bethlehem for selection to the fall 2025 dean’s list.
The dean’s list at the University at Albany recognizes the outstanding academic achievements of full-time undergraduate students.
To qualify for the dean’s list, students must earn a grade-point average (GPA) of 3.25 or higher in their first semester of study and a GPA of 3.50 or higher in subsequent semesters.
The University of Rhode Island is pleased to announce that several area students have been named to its fall 2025 dean’s list. Among them are Bethlehem area residents Tiahnna Dalpezzo, Sydney Houchens and Anna Petke.
To be included on the dean’s list, full-time students must have completed 12 or more credits for letter grades which are GPA applicable during a semester and achieved at least a 3.30 quality point average. Part-time students qualify with the accumulation of 12 or more credits for letter grades which are GPA applicable earning at least a 3.30 quality point average.
Local residents were among more than 1,750 students who were named to The University of Scranton’s dean’s list for the 2025 fall semester.
Local Students are: Grace E. Mansfield, a junior communication major in the University’s College of Arts and Sciences; Bailey R. Orth, a freshman nursing major in the University’s Leahy College of Health Sciences; Gabriella S. Warren, a junior occupational therapy major in the University’s Leahy College of Health Sciences; Mackenzie J. Kerecz, a sophomore business administration major in the University’s Kania School of Management; and Andrew J. Lessig, a sophomore business analytics major in the University’s Kania School of Management.
The dean’s list recognizes students for academic excellence. A student must have a grade-point average of 3.5 or better with a minimum number of credit hours during the semester to make the dean’s list. The list includes students from the Jesuit university’s College of Arts and Sciences, Kania School of Management and the Leahy College of Health Sciences.
Bethlehem resident Helena Lynn, majoring in Interdisciplinary Health Care Studies, has been named to the dean’s list at Saint Francis University. A total of 715 students were named; 205 to the President’s List and 510 to the dean’s list.
Ohio University College of Health Sciences and Professions student Tatyana Paulino of Bethlehem has been named to OHIO’s Fall 2025 dean’s list.
The dean’s list recognizes undergraduate students who complete a particular semester with a GPA between 3.5 and 3.999 with a minimum of 12 credit hours attempted for letter grades that are used to calculate GPA.
Olivia Harris of Bethlehem earned dean’s list honors at the University of Tampa for the Fall 2025 semester. Harris is a Sophomore majoring in Political Science BA. Students must maintain a GPA of 3.75 or higher to be eligible for the dean’s list.
Local resident receive degrees
Aron Esterly, of Bethlehem graduated from Commonweawlth University-Bloomsburg in the fall of 2025.
Jianing Liang, of Bethlehem is among nearly 1,400 students graduating from Mississippi State University in fall 2025.
Liang received the Doctor of Philosophy from MSU’s College of Forest Resources.
McNeill appointed to Airport Authority
State Rep. Jeanne McNeill has been appointed to the Lehigh Northampton Airport Authority.
“I’m honored to be appointed to the Lehigh Northampton Airport Authority and grateful for the trust placed in me,” said McNeill. “Our airport is a vital economic engine for the Lehigh Valley, supporting jobs, commerce, and regional connectivity. I look forward to collaborating with my fellow board members to ensure the airport operates safely and efficiently, while fostering long-term growth and community benefits for the 133rd Legislative District.”
McNeill was appointed to the authority by Lehigh County Executive Josh Siegel.
NORCO names comm manager
Northampton County Executive Tara Zrinski announces the hiring of Kelly Prentice as communications manager.
This role is part of the executive’s administrative transition, reinforcing her commitment to transparency and clear, consistent communication. Key responsibilities of this role include developing and implementing clear, accurate communication strategies, serving as the primary contact for media, and acting as a liaison between the county and the public. The manager will also help to foster internal communications among county departments and stakeholders.
As part of this transition, the Deputy Director of Administration Jessica Berger will shift into a role primarily focused on serving as deputy to the county administrator.
Prentice holds a degree in English and communications from DeSales University, with a specialty in science and technical writing. A communications and public relations professional from Easton, she brings more than 23 years of experience in strategic planning, media relations and content marketing.
Her professional background includes work in both corporate and nonprofit organizations across the Lehigh Valley and beyond, with experience with organizations such as Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Network, Lafayette College, and the Delaware & Lehigh National Heritage Corridor.
