NW MIDDLE SCHOOL NEWS By Addison Watt
This season has been awesome for Northwestern MS sports.
We have girls and boys basketball and wrestling.
Now that the seasons have just finished up we can talk about their results.
All of these athletes worked super hard in and out of practices.
The wrestling team finished their season 9-3 in duals meets and also finished strong in Jr. High Districts.
Coach Robert Marlatt said “As a team everyone competed extremely hard. I am very proud of the entire team for their effort all season.”
In the District Tournament the boys finished fifth as a team and the girls placed seventh.
The individuals who placed are as follows: Carter Snyder, seventh; Jake Tsalalikehin, second; Lucas Koehler, sixth; and Paulo Fuggazatto, second.
For the girls: Madeline Wener, third; Kendal Hoffman, first; and Sadie Wener, first. Congratulations to the winners.
Girls basketball has a great year.
The A team scored 612 points all together and the B team got 452 points overall.
A team had a 14-3 record and B team had a 15-0 record.
Their team motto: “As One,” defines the group.
Every player contributed to the team’s success and their coach Allison Davis said what made this team so memorable was their dedication and growth shown throughout their season. Great work ladies.
The boys basketball team also worked hard this season.
They ended up with a 12-2-1. three of those were mercy rule wins.
Their coach Nathan Hunsicker says “ They are a great group of kids with lots of potential and I’m excited to see them grow in the game over the rest of their careers.”
They started with a 1-2 record and since then they had 12 unbeaten games. Awesome job guys!
The middle school boys basketball team coached by Sam Yadush had some good battles.
They ended their season with a huge win over Palmerton!
They never quit, always played hard, and never gave up.
Coach Yadush said “It was an honor to coach these guys all year.”
Congratulations to all the Northwestern Lehigh MS and JHS winter sports athletes. Keep working hard Tigers.
