Trojans earn top seed in EPC playoffs
The Parkland High School boys basketball team is heading into the postseason playing its best basketball of the 2025-26 season, winners of eight games in a row. The Trojans’ last loss in the Eastern Pennsylvania Conference was in the season opener the first day of December.
The Trojans won three conference games and a nonconference contest last week.
They began the week with a 73-54 win over Central Catholic last Tuesday, then beat Emmaus 60-48 last Friday. This past Sunday the Trojans held on against Imhotep Charter, 36-34, before concluding the season with an 81-54 win at Dieruff Monday night.
In the win over the Vikings, Parkland used the first two quarters to take a 42-25 lead at halftime.
Tyler Beck finished with a game-high 18 points, including four 3-pointers. Ryan Kearney recorded 12 points. Nassim Adams tallied 11 points and Blake Nassry netted 10 points. Jude Ruisch contributed eight points and TJ Lawrence six points.
In the victory against the Huskies, it was a high-scoring first quarter as the Trojans outscored Dieruff 35-14.
Nassry went off for a career-best 34 points, including six 3-pointers. Beck tallied 11 points. Ruisch had eight points and both Lawrence and Marcus Temchatin added six.
On Sunday, in one of the lowest scoring games of the season, the Trojans scored just 11 points in the first half, but still held an 11-5 lead at halftime, holding Imhotep scoreless in the second quarter. Nassry totaled 18 points and Beck notched 10.
In the season finale, Parkland was able to go ahead by double figures early and could ride it out the rest of the game. Nassry netted a game-high 28 points and Ruisch totaled 15. Beck contributed eight points.
Parkland finished the season 17-5 overall and 15-1 in the conference, claiming the regular season title and top seed in the EPC Tournament. The Trojans will host the eighth seed, Central Catholic, on Friday night at Parkland.
