A year ago, the Salisbury girls’ basketball team got hot late in the season to make a push for a playoff spot. The team might have to do the same thing this season
Losses in eight of their last nine game have Salisbury at 7-10 overall and 4-9 in Colonial League play heading into this week.
Last Wednesday when they traveled to Notre Dame of East Stroudsburg to pick up a nonleague win and end a seven-game losing skid. Surrounding the 64-32 win in East Stroudsburg there are a couple of losses in Colonial League games.
Salisbury fell to the Notre Dame (Green Pond) 46-36 last Tuesday.
The Notre Dame defense held Salisbury to just three points in the second quarter as the Lady Crusaders stretched a 14-10 lead into a 27-13 lead at halftime.
The only second quarter points scored by Salisbury came when Roxana Cardenas hit a three-pointer as she was on her way to scoring 10 points in the game. Kendra Morgan finished with 14 for the Falcons.
Notre Dame’s Brenna Hammerstone a game-high 16 points.
Last Friday Wilson downed the Falcons 47-30.
Morgan led all scorers with 20 points.
Salisbury is now down to its final five games of the season. The stretch begins with a game at Saucon Valley Wednesday. Friday the Falcons host Catasauqua and then travel to Pen Argyl on Monday.
The Falcons need wins in four of their final five games to qualify for a spot in districts.
