PHS swim teams beat Pates, PM East
The Parkland swimming and diving teams won a couple of recent duals meet against Pocono Mountain East and Freedom.
Against the Cardinals, Parkland won the girls meet 138-23, while the Trojan boys team beat PME 129-28.
Jessica Lindmark (200 freestyle, 500 freestyle) won two individual events against the Cardinals, while CJ Denton (50 freestyle, backstroke) won a pair of events in the boys meet for Parkland.
The Trojan girls beat Freedom 142-40, while their boys counterparts nearly matched that score with a 142-41 win.
Eight different Parkland girls swimmers won individual events against the Patriots, with the Trojans winning all of the swimming events and Freedom’s only victory coming in diving.
In the boys meet, Thomas Price (butterfly, backstroke) and Dominic Faenza (50 freestyle, breaststroke) won two individual events each.
Parkland girls divers took first place at the MLK Invitational on Jan. 19 at Ridley High School. The Trojans finished with 1,733.9 points with host Ridley second at 1,435.8.
Sam Schultz led Parkland with a second-place overall finish with 366.2 points. Teammate Addison Dietrich (347.5) finished sixth.
The Trojan boys divers took second place at the meet with 1776.8 points. Plymouth-Whitemarsh (1809) won the boys meet with Ridley (1186.7) third.
Charlie Epstein was Parkland’s top boys finisher at the MLK Invitational, taking third overall with 419.3 points. Teammate CJ Denton was fifth with 401.1.
