The Parkland High School girls basketball team received back-to-back double digit victories in Eastern Pennsylvania Conference action last week.
The Trojans first beat Allen 48-12 last Tuesday night, Jan. 20, and then concluded the week with a 55-18 victory against Whitehall Friday night.
In the victory over the Canaries, Parkland scored 12 of the first 14 points in the first quarter and held a 20-8 lead at halftime.
The Trojans defense held the Allen offense scoreless in the third quarter and outscored them 22-0. Isabella Hallal led the way with 12 points.
Carly Spang and Aneri McGalla finished with seven points each, while Arielle Brown, Savannah Gonzalez and Yana Smaltz tallied four points. Cheryllana Cunningham and Addison Fritzinger had three points.
Parkland outscored the Zephyrs 15-4 in the opening quarter and then took a 35-9 advantage into halftime. The Trojans held a 20-9 edge through the final two quarters to secure the win.
McGalla finished with a team-best 12 points. Hallal recorded 11 points. Cunningham contributed nine points and Spang added eight.
Parkland, which improved its record to 13-4 overall and 11-2 in the conference, was at Central Catholic this past Tuesday night and then finishes the regular season with two straight home games, hosting Emmaus on Friday and taking on Dieruff Sunday afternoon in the Hoop Group Showcase.
