Press Photo by Tim SinglesFirefighters from Lower Macungie Fire Department responded to a reported gas leak in the 2500 block of River Rock Drive at approximately 3 p.m. Feb. 9. First arriving units found a strong odor of gas coming from a ruptured gas line. The gas line was hit by a contractor crew working in the area. One family was evacuated from their home while several other families were asked to shelter in place. Crews from UGI were on location to isolate the leak.
