EHS names student of the week

Q. Please provide the first names of your family members: parents, siblings and pets.

A. Rob and Robin Paradise (parents), Meghan, Ryan, Emma (siblings), Bailey and Guinness (dogs).

Q. As a senior, do you have any specific goals you will pursue this academic year?

A. My main goal is to stay on top of my schoolwork while being intentional with how I use my time. I want to finish senior year strong academically while continuing to be involved in activities that matter to me.

Q. What is your favorite class at Emmaus High School? Why?

A. AP Biology was my favorite class. Mrs. Svencer was a great teacher and I only have good memories with all of my classmates. Our class was very close with each other.

Q. Have you received any special awards or recognition?

A. I have been on the Principal’s Honor Roll throughout high school and am a member of National Honor Society, National Spanish Honor Society and Tri-M Music Honor Society. I was recently selected to perform in the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association District 10 Chorus and I have also been recognized as an AP Scholar with Honor.

Q. Are you involved in any extracurricular activities? How has being involved in these organizations impacted your high school experience?

A. I am very involved in activities at school. I am the founder and president of the Emmaus High School chapter of Morgan’s Message, a nationwide organization focused on eliminating the stigma surrounding athletes’ mental health. I am also a vice captain on the debate team, fundraising chair for the theater department, a member of the EHS chorale and the manager of the swim and dive team. These activities have introduced me to many different groups of people and helped me build friendships across the school.

Q. What do you consider your biggest challenge to date?

A. Recently, my biggest challenge has been navigating the college admissions process. Balancing applications, decisions and uncertainty while keeping up with a demanding senior year course load has been difficult. Learning how to handle rejection and stay focused has definitely pushed me to grow.

Q. At this time, what are your plans for the future beyond high school?

A. I plan to attend a 4-year university to study business or economics, with the long-term goal of eventually attending law school.

Q. If you could spend an evening conversing with a historically significant person, whom would you choose? Why?

A. I would have to choose FDR. I am very interested in politics so I would like to hear his insights into running a successful campaign and administration.

Q. For what would you like to be remembered?

A. I would like to be remembered as someone who encouraged others and made people’s days a little better.

Q. Do you have any advice for your peers?

A. Get involved within high school. It’s a great way to meet new people, make the most of your time and discover what you’re passionate about. It also looks good on college applications!
