Feb. 19
The Emmaus Historical Society invites the public to the first program of 2026 titled “The Allentown Fairgrounds History and Current Day Happenings” presented by Kelly Butterbaugh (author) and Daryl Urmy (Lehigh County Agricultural Society president). Join the society as they walk through the history of the fairgrounds established at 17th and Chew streets in 1889. The program is free and open to the public. The program will be held 7 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 501 Chestnut St., Emmaus Refreshments will be served after the program.

Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, 1343 Long Lane Road (at Krumsville), Kutztown, is holding a sausage sandwich sale 4-7 p.m. Feb. 27. Each order purchase includes a sandwich, chips, drink eat in or take out. Wildlands Conservancy – Winter Birding Walk 1-3 p.m. at Trexler Nature Preserve – Environmental Education Center, 4935 Orchard Road, Schnecksville. Whether you’re new to birdwatching or looking to sharpen your skills, this guided walk will introduce you to the hardy species that call our region home during the colder months. Learn how to identify birds by sight and sound, use field guides effectively and understand winter bird behavior. Don’t miss Parkland Reads District-wide Elementary Night 6:30–7:30 p.m. held simultaneously in-person in all elementary school cafeterias. Kick off the annual reading tradition and reveal the “Mystery Book” for all K-5 students to read in March. Highlights includes the big book reveal, virtual author visit, directed drawing and a live Q&A. RSVP by sending in the physical form with your student for their teacher or email your child’s classroom teacher. Thanks to the Parkland Education Foundation, every K-5 student receives a free copy of the book at school, regardless of attendance.
March 1
Morgenland Church, 3120 Weidasville Road, Orefield, will take orders for homemade chicken potpie with homemade noodles until March 1 for take-out only. The chicken potpie pickup will be 4-6 p.m. March 7. To place an order, call Cindy at 610-554-0510 or Lisa at 610-984-7770.
Morganland Church is also holding a hoagie sale. The 31st annual Spring Sportsmen’s Flea Market is scheduled 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Alburtis Area Community Center, 220 W. Second St., Alburtis. The event will feature new and used fishing, hunting and trapping equipment as well as collectibles. There is a cost for admission and proceeds benefit Alburtis Boy Scout Troop 86. Emmaus Garden Club will meet at noon at Bethel Bible Fellowship Church, 418 Elm St., Emmaus. The program will be “Grow Smart: The ABC’s of Plant Nutrition.” Kaitlyn Sterner from Jack’s Fertilizer will share the ABC’s of plant nutrition. She will demystify fertilizer labels, explain those NPK numbers, and show how a simple meal plan can keep your plants happy and healthy. Enter at the back of the building/gymnasium. Iconic Movie Music and The Best of Broadway is the theme for the music program for the Allentown Music Club 2:30 p.m. at The Asbury United Methodist Church, 1533 Springhouse Road, South Whitehall. This is a free event and open to the public.
United Church of Christ, Greenawalds, 2325 Albright Ave., Allentown will hold a penny party. Doors open 4:45 p.m. Light supper 5 p.m. Game begins 6 p.m. Bid and win items. The Emmaus Arts Commission presents the Snow Blast Winter Arts Festival noon-4 p.m. at Juxtahub, 375 S. 10th St., Emmaus. The event will include artisan booths, food trucks, artists demonstrations, kids activities and more.
March 14
Are you new to the Parkland Community this year? Come to the new parent social from 10-11 a.m. in the Parkland High School Library. You’ll make connections with other new parents through fun activities and refreshments. This event will be part of the fourth annual Community Resource Fair, taking place 9 a.m. to noon at Parkland High School. Social service agencies, nonprofits, community partners and recreational organizations will showcase their services and parent workshops will be offered. Also on site that day will be the Music Boosters who will be collecting used clothing and toys. This event was made possible with a grant from the Parkland Education Foundation.

The Sanctuary at Haafsville will hold a cash bingo and basket raffle 1-5 p.m. at East Greenville Fire Company, 401 Washington St., East Greenville. Doors open 11:30 a.m. The cost of a ticket includes 20 regular games, advance sales only. Tickets are “will call” – no physical tickets will be mailed. For reservations, email your name, phone number and number of tickets wanted to events@thesanctuarypa.org. If you want to sit with others, only make one reservation for all members of your party. All proceeds to benefit the rescue dogs and cats at The Sanctuary, 901 Nestle Way, Breinigsville.
