Susan E. Shields, 82, of Macungie, died Feb. 12, 2026, surrounded by her family.

Born in New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late George Winfield and Doris Scott.

She grew up in Cranford, N.J. and went on to become a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She practiced nursing in Illinois and New Jersey, dedicating her professional life to caring for others.

She was a devoted mother, grandmother, wife, sister and friend. Her greatest joy in life was her family and she poured her heart into making sure those she loved always felt supported, encouraged and deeply cared for.

She was always supportive of her husband and his many interests. She loved the beach and spent her summers growing up on Long Beach Island, where she met her husband – a place that always held a special meaning in her heart.

She is survived by her children, Jeffrey, Patricia Gatter, Angel Scott; grandchildren, Andrew, Nora, Scott Gatter, Jake Gatter; brother, Angel Donald Scott; many loving extended family members and dear friends.

She was predeceased by her husband.
