Northampton: Orders taken for nut roll sale

Assumption of the Virgin Mary Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 1301 Newport Ave., is having a nut roll sale. The available flavors are apricot, lekvar, nut, poppy seed, red raspberry and pumpkin roll.

Place orders with Marty at 610-682-4458 no later than March 10. The orders can be picked up 10 a.m.-noon March 28 at the church.

Reminder: Northampton Area School District’s community education winter session classes have started, but drop-ins are welcome for a fee.

Water aerobics with Susan Roberts is a low-impact workout that is kind to your joints. The instructor will explain all the exercises and will utilize noodles, water dumbbells and water belts for total-body workout.

The classes will run 7:30-8:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays through March 26 in the Northampton Area Middle School natatorium. The makeup dates are March 31 and April 2.

Dance It Out with Jennifer Stoudt is a fun, high-energy low/high-impact, cardio and strength workout. All fitness levels are welcome. Bring water and optional 1- to 3-pound dumbbells.

The classes are set for 6:30-7:30 p.m. Wednesdays through March 11 in the Siegfried Elementary School multipurpose room, 1677 Lincoln Ave. The makeup date is March 25.

Two new classes are starting soon.

Muscle Hustle with Michelle Heisler will have participants rotate through strength and cardio stations. Each station will concentrate on either a body part with dumbbells or a cardio exercise. Participants will work at their own pace and lift the weights most comfortable for them, so all fitness levels are welcome. Bring water and at least one set of dumbbells. Dumbbells of various weights will also be provided to share.

Classes are set for 6:30-7:15 p.m. Tuesdays, March 3-24 in the Siegfried Elementary School multipurpose room. The makeup date will be March 31.

The second is CPR/first aid/AED certification with Nicole Stopay. This American Red Cross course is a comprehensive, hands-on training designed to prepare individuals to recognize and respond confidently to emergency situations. Participants will learn how to perform CPR for adults, use an automated external defibrillator (AED) safely and effectively and respond to common first aid emergencies such as bleeding, burns, choking, sudden illness and injuries.

Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive an American Red Cross certification in CPR/first aid/AED that is valid for two years.

The class is 5-8 p.m. March 5 in room 1718 at Northampton Area High School, 1619 Laubach Ave. The makeup date is March 12.

Participants must preregister for this course. Registration closes one week before class. No drop-ins are accepted.

Register at nasdschools.org. Participants do not need to be NASD residents but must be at least 15 years old.

The cubmaster for Cub Scout Pack 99 invites all boys and girls in grades K-5 to visit 6:30-7:30 p.m. Wednesdays at St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church, 829 Main St. Learn about Scouting adventures, excitement and fun. There is no pressure to join.

Holy Trinity Nursery School, 1235 Main St., is currently registering for the 2026-27 school year. Spaces are limited in all three classes.

The 2-year-old playgroup class will meet 9:30-11 a.m. Mondays and Wednesdays. The class size is limited to 12 children, and children do not need to be toilet trained for this class.

The 3-year-old class meets 9-11:30 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. The class size is limited to 16 children, and children need to be toilet trained for this class.

The 4-year-old class meets 12:15-2:45 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. The class size is limited to 16 children, and children need to be toilet trained for this class.

Children must turn the appropriate age for the class by Sept. 1.
