North Catasauqua: St. John Fisher Church plans Lenten fish dinner for Feb. 20
The St. John Fisher Catholic Church Lenten fish dinner will take place 4:30-6:30 p.m. Feb. 20 at the church, 1229 Third St. A platter includes a breaded haddock filet, choice of parsley potatoes or halushki, corn, coleslaw, applesauce, roll, butter, beverage and dessert.
There is a cost.
Tickets may be purchased at the door the day of the dinner.

Reminder: If you made reservations for Holy Trinity Memorial Lutheran Church’s meatloaf dinner, the event is Feb. 21, with seatings 4:30 p.m., 5 p.m., 5:30 p.m. and 6 p.m., at the church, 604 Fourth St., Catasauqua. The menu includes meatloaf with gravy, mashed potatoes, corn, roll and butter and a dessert cookie bar.
Cost is by donation. The dinner benefits YMCA’s warming station, which provides shelter, food and a safe place for those experiencing homelessness.

Salem United Church of Christ, 615 Third St., Catasauqua, has delivered much-needed warm socks, hats, gloves, hand and foot warmers and ready-to-eat foods to the warming station. The church will continue to collect these items along with personal toiletries through February.

St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 122 Union St., Catasauqua, will be holding a Lenten dinner 4:30-6:30 p.m. March 6 in the parish center, for dine-in or takeout.
The meal includes fried breaded haddock, homemade tartar sauce and coleslaw, roll with butter, beverage and choice of seasoned roasted potatoes or cabbage and noodles and a choice of green beans or applesauce.
If you do not like fish, you can choose a cabbage and noodles option, which includes green beans, roll with butter and beverage. A kid’s meal, at a reduced price, includes fish or spaghetti. Baked goods will also be available.

St. John Fisher is having a Kornfeind’s Market sandwich sale fundraiser. Choices include roast beef, ham or turkey. All sandwiches come with white American cheese with a packet of mustard or mayonnaise.

Consider purchasing a Hometown Heroes banner to honor anyone who served in the military. A photo of the individual to be put on the banner will be needed with the name of the individual on the back of the photo. The banners will be installed and hung on various streets in the borough.
