Luther C. Mory Jr.

formerly of Schnecksville

Luther C. “Lou” Mory Jr., 80, of Collegeville, formerly of Schnecksville, died peacefully Feb. 9, 2026, at his residence surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Jackie Lou (Rau) Mory to whom he was married 59 years. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Luther C. Mory Sr. and Madelyn C. (Wieder) Mory.

He faithfully and honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War era. He was employed as the director of parks and recreation for the City of Allentown for 35 years before retiring in 2003.

An avid sports enthusiast, he was a girls basketball coach for the City of Allentown Recreation Department and church leagues. He played basketball and slow-pitch baseball for the Allentown city leagues.

He enjoyed skiing, long distance running and traveling with his family throughout the world. He was a longtime affiliate of Gebhardts Billiards and Home Recreation in Allentown and the former Witwer-Jones Company.

He was a former recess aide at the Schnecksville Elementary School.

He was a member of St. Joseph the Worker, Roman Catholic Church, Orefield where he formerly served as a Eucharistic Minister for 10 years.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Wendy L. Mory Aach-Taner, Esq. and her husband, Ali Kemal Taner, of Collegeville; grandchildren, Cayleigh Jaclyn Mory Aach, of Limerick, Anthony John Mory Aach, of Collegeville; great-granddaughter, Kennedy Sofia Aach Keller, daughter of Cayleigh.

He was predeceased by his sister, Elaine M. Mory Rauch.
