Janice M. (Krause) Kiefer, 79, of Allentown, died suddenly Feb. 12, 2026, in her home, after a long and courageous battle with ALS. She was the wife of William E. Kiefer III, to whom she was married 48 years. Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Alvin N. and Mary E. (Weaver) Krause.

A graduate of the former Allentown School of Nursing, she was a registered nurse at Lehigh Valley Hospital, working mostly in the employee health department for many years before retiring.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by sons, Scott W. and his wife, Michelle Issadore, of Souderton, Steven G., of Kutztown; grandchildren, Sasha, Elliott, Olivia.

She was predeceased by a sister, Carolyn L. Steele.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Feb. 20, in the Heintzelman Funeral Home, 4906 Route 309, Schnecksville. Family and friends may pay their respects 10-11 a.m. in the funeral home before the service. Online expressions of sympathy may be recorded at www.heintzelmancares.com.
