Coplay Borough Council voted on two pieces of legislation related to motor vehicles at its meeting Feb. 10.
Ordinance 863 amended a section in the borough vehicle and traffic code, setting a deadline of 10 days for payment of a violation. If the citation is not paid in that time frame, it will then be sent to the magisterial district judge.
Resolution 1533 updated the borough’s fee schedule. A change in the ticket charges was approved.
Quick tickets, issued by code enforcement, increased from $25 to $100. Examples of these violations are failure to remove snow or cut grass or weeds from property.
Parking tickets increased from $20 to $50.
In other business, council approved the Parkway Pool opening of June 14. The pool will be closing for the season Aug. 23.
Amanda Doss was approved as the pavilion and social hall cleaner.
Council approved Portnoff to collect unpaid real estate taxes. As of the Feb. 10 meeting, unpaid taxes totaled $17,892.18.
Borough council approved the resignations of Alyssa Schubrick as a part-time police officer and Kelly Humanick as the police secretary.
Coplay Public Library was approved to use the lower parking lot at Saylor Park for its Vince’s Famous Cheesesteaks fundraiser, scheduled for April 30.
Council will meet March 3 for a workshop and March 10 for a regular meeting. Both are held 7 p.m. at borough hall, 98 S. Fourth St.
