A Shrove Tuesday and Fastnacht Day celebration will be held 6 p.m. Feb. 17, 2026 at Jerusalem Western Salisbury Church, 3441 Devonshire Road, Allentown. Participants will gather in the chapel area of the church building, where a meal consisting of homemade sausage, green beans and potatoes and applesauce will be served; homemade fastnachts (Pennsylvania Dutch Doughnuts) will be featured for dessert.

Following the meal, there will be several fun activities for all ages: a “Best Apron” contest, with prizes awarded in several categories (all are welcome to participate and bring their favorite apron along to model for the contest); a Fastnacht Flipping Contest and the playing of a history board game. Good fun will be had by all.

Participants will have the opportunity to learn more about fastnachts and the other cultural celebrations, while having good food, fellowship and fun. Kindly contact the church office at 610-797-4242 or email jucc3441@ptd.net to RSVP with a name and the number of people attending the event.

Donations will be accepted benefiting the history committee.
