EHS names student of the week

Q. Please provide the first names of your family members: parents, siblings and pets.

A. My parents are Marcus and Christina and my stepdad is Jonathan. I have one sister named Alli and three step-siblings: Gen, Zach and Bella. I also have three pets, a dog named Sam, a cat named Sammy and a fish named Victor.

Q. As a senior, do you have any specific goals you will pursue this academic year?

A. As a senior, my main goals this academic year are to stay motivated and continue maintaining good grades. I also want to truly cherish the rest of my time at Emmaus High School by getting involved in new clubs, meeting new people and trying experiences outside of my comfort zone. Since this is my final year, I want to try and create lasting memories.

Q. What is your favorite class at EHS? Why?

A. My favorite class at EHS was AP Language. I am very passionate about writing and have always enjoyed the English classes at Emmaus, but AP Language truly challenged me and helped take my writing to the next level. I found learning about rhetoric especially interesting and I hope it is something I can carry with me into my future career. Beyond the academics, the classroom environment made the experience even better. I loved my teacher and I had some of my best friends in the class, which created a strong sense of community and made the class especially memorable.

Q. Have you received any special awards or recognition?

A. I was named an AP Scholar with Distinction by the College Board and earned third place at the 2025 Emmaus Debate Conference. I have also received the Principal’s Excellence Award every year of high school. In addition, I am a member of National Honor Society and National French Honor Society. Athletically, I was part of the team that earned second place in Eastern Pennsylvania Conference girls lacrosse in 2025.

Q. Are you involved in any extracurricular activities? How has being involved in these organizations impacted your high school experience?

A. I serve as secretary of the debate team and historian of the Pediatric Cancer Club. I am also a member of the ski and snowboard club, pickleball club, Aevidum, EHS new student mentoring, National Honor Society, National Language Honor Society and Emmaus girls lacrosse. Being involved in these organizations has allowed me to build meaningful friendships and feel more connected to the school community. Many of these activities have also given me opportunities to give back and support others, which has been very rewarding.

Q. What do you consider your biggest challenge to date?

A. One of the biggest challenges I have faced to date has been managing my mental health. It is something I have worked to overcome throughout all four years of high school and something I still continue to navigate today. Through this experience, I have learned self-discipline and coping strategies that help me stay motivated.

Q. At this time, what are your plans for the future beyond high school?

A. After high school, I plan to attend a four-year college to obtain my bachelor’s degree in political science. From there, I intend to go to law school with the goal of becoming either a civil rights lawyer or a family lawyer.

Q. If you could spend an evening conversing with a historically significant person, whom would you choose? Why?

A. If I could spend an evening conversing with a historically significant person, I would choose Ruth Bader Ginsburg. As a future law student, I greatly admire her lifelong commitment to equality and justice. I would love the opportunity to learn from her experiences specifically challenging gender discrimination. I would also ask for advice on how she handled setbacks, criticism or moments of doubt.

Q. For what would you like to be remembered?

A. I would like to be remembered simply as a kind person and for making a positive impact in the lives of those around me.

Q. Do you have any advice for your peers?

A. My advice for my peers is to be intentional in everything they do. Whether it’s in education or relationships, try to find purpose and meaning in your actions. Don’t get caught up in self-image or how others perceive you, focus on your passions and let the rest unfold. My hope for my peers is that they approach every opportunity with direction and depth to make the most of their experiences.
