Wildlands Conservancy – Snowshoe with Your Sweetheart will take place 1-3 p.m. at Trexler Nature Preserve – Packhouse Road Parking Area, 5375 Old Packhouse Road, Schnecksville. Celebrate Valentine’s Day with your sweetheart on a magical snowshoe trek through a winter wonderland! Explore snowy trails as you learn the art of animal tracking, discovering signs of wildlife that call this landscape home. Wildlands Conservancy – Winter Birding Walk 1-3 p.m. at Trexler Nature Preserve – Environmental Education Center, 4935 Orchard Road, Schnecksville. Whether you’re new to birdwatching or looking to sharpen your skills, this guided walk will introduce you to the hardy species that call our region home during the colder months. Learn how to identify birds by sight and sound, use field guides effectively and understand winter bird behavior. Feb. 28

Greater Lehigh Valley Writers’ Group will hold its monthly meeting 10 a.m. to noon Feb. 28. The meeting is offered in a hybrid format – in-person at the Palmer Branch of the Easton Library, 1 Weller Place, Palmer and online via Zoom.

From 11 a.m. to noon, author and English professor Jeffrey Voccola will present “Creating the Story Arc.” At this craft talk, discussion will focus on finding direction through the narrative arc. Voccola will present an afternoon workshop, “Character and Point of View” from 1-3 p.m. Voccola will discuss character development and using point of view to keep the reader engaged. Registration is required for the afternoon program. There is no cost for members.

There is a cost for non-members payable via AccuPay. Any person under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian for any GLVWG event. March 1

Morgenland Church, 3120 Weidasville Road, Orefield, will take orders for homemade chicken potpie with homemade noodles until March 1 for take-out only. The chicken potpie pickup will be 4-6 p.m. March 7. To place an order, call Cindy at 610-554-0510 or Lisa at 610-984-7770.

Morganland Church is also holding a hoagie sale. Options available are regular Italian with everything or no peppers, no onions with peppers, no onions or peppers, ham and cheese; no onions or peppers, turkey; no onions or peppers, roast beef; no onions or peppers, tuna and veggie. Ingredients are supplied by Thomson’s Meat Market, Walnutport. The deadline to order is March 1. Hoagie pickup will take place 4-6 p.m. March 10. To order, call Marilyn at 610-395-6885.

Iconic Movie Music and The Best of Broadway is the theme for the music program for the Allentown Music Club 2:30 p.m. at The Asbury United Methodist Church, 1533 Springhouse Road, South Whitehall. This is a free event and open to the public.

April 19

The Sanctuary at Haafsville will hold a cash bingo and basket raffle 1-5 p.m. at East Greenville Fire Company, 401 Washington St., East Greenville. Doors open 11:30 a.m. The cost of a ticket includes 20 regular games, advance sales only. Tickets are “will call” – no physical tickets will be mailed. For reservations, email your name, phone number and number of tickets wanted to events@thesanctuarypa.org. If you want to sit with others, only make one reservation for all members of your party. All proceeds to benefit the rescue dogs and cats at The Sanctuary, 901 Nestle Way, Breinigsville.
