Super Bowl bash

Legion hosts gathering for big game

Catasauqua American Legion Post 215 hosted a Super Bowl party Feb. 8. Legion members and guests gathered, starting 6 p.m., to watch this year’s football game.

The event was advertised both on the message board outside the Legion but also via the Catasauqua Legion 215 Facebook page.

Attendees enjoyed free drinks, conversation, football and pizza courtesy of local Catty Corner. The event was at no cost to attendees but was limited to Legion members and signed-in guests only.

Bar manager Robyn Confalone explained they typically like to do something special for the game every year. This year, the party included New England Patriots- and Seattle Seahawks-themed drink specials and raffles throughout the night, including a 58-inch television to be raffled off at halftime.

Confalone also emphasized the point of the event was to create a space of camaraderie, community and to be an overall “nice place to hang out” for the members to enjoy the game.

“As always, everything we do is to support veterans,” she said.

Confalone also shared upcoming events associated with the Legion that are open to the public. These include a pub crawl March 14 and live music by Uncle Smiley May 2, which will include a cover charge at the door.
