Stanley A. Whitaker Jr., 82, of Emmaus, died Feb. 8, 2026, at Lehigh Valley Hospital –Cedar Crest, Salisbury Township, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Lynn L. (Henninger) Whitaker to whom he was married 45 years. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Stanley A. Whitaker Sr. and Irene C. (Hilbert) Whitaker.

He taught sixth grade for the East Penn School District, mainly at Shoemaker Elementary School for 32 years before retiring in 1997.

He was a lifetime member of Fullerton Fire Company.

He enjoyed running, walking, reading, cooking, playing tennis, watching Phillies baseball and taking rides in his beloved Corvettes and Camaros.

He was a member of Jerusalem Western Salisbury Church, Allentown.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughter, Angela Itterly and her husband, Jim; son, Andrew and his wife, Kim; brother, Milton N. and his wife, Linda; sister-in-law, Gretchen Krasley; brother-in-law, Guy Henninger and his wife, Allison; grandchildren, Jared Itterly, Marissa Itterly, Emily, Lance Cpl. Darien; several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m. Feb. 13 in the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., 4906 Route 309, Schnecksville. Family and friends may pay their respects 9:30-10:30 a.m. before the service in the funeral home.
