North Catasauqua: North Catasauqua Borough sewer bills are due by Feb. 13

Residents and businesses are reminded the sewer bills are due by Feb. 13 without a penalty. Payments may be made online by visiting northcatasauqua.citizenactioncenter.com or at the borough office during regular office hours.

The 2026 garbage assessment/trash invoices have been sent out. The due date is March 31, and there is a discount if paid by Feb. 28.

Catasauqua Community Thrift Shop, 113 Bridge St., will have a half-price sale on everything in the shop until Feb. 14 in honor of Valentine’s Day.

The shop’s regular hours are 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays and 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Any donations to the thrift shop must be written to Catasauqua Community Partnership or CCPI due to banking regulations.

St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 122 Union St., Catasauqua, will hold cash bingo Feb. 15 in the parish center. The doors and kitchen will open 11:30 a.m., with bingo beginning 1 p.m.

There is a cost, which includes 15 games, seven specials and one jackpot round. Bring your daubers, but no hardboards.

No outside food or drinks are permitted; the kitchen will be selling your favorites.

The next North Catasauqua Borough Council meeting will take place 7 p.m. Feb. 16 in the basement-level meeting room at borough hall, 1066 Fourth St.

Borough council meetings are scheduled for 7 p.m. the first and third Mondays of each month, with the exception of the September meeting, which will take place Sept. 8, a Tuesday.

St. John Fisher Catholic Church’s Lenten fish dinner will take place 4:30-6:30 p.m. Feb. 20 at the church, 1229 Third St. A platter includes a breaded haddock filet, choice of parsley potatoes or halushki, corn, coleslaw, applesauce, roll, butter, beverage and dessert.

There is a cost. Tickets will be sold before and after all Masses Feb. 14 and 15 for a prepurchased reduced cost. Tickets may be purchased at the door the day of the dinner for a slightly higher price.

The church is looking for volunteers to help with the dinner.

Holy Trinity Memorial Lutheran Church, 604 Fourth St., Catasauqua, will hold a meat loaf dinner Feb. 21. Seatings will be held 4:30 p.m., 5 p.m., 5:30 p.m. and 6 p.m.

The menu includes meat loaf with gravy, mashed potatoes, corn, roll and butter and a dessert cookie bar.

Cost is by donation. The dinner benefits YMCA’s warming station providing shelter, food and a safe place for those experiencing homelessness.

Salem United Church of Christ, 615 Third St., Catasauqua, is having a basket raffle 5-8 p.m. March 6 and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 7. There will be a bake sale and food available for purchase.

Sheckler Elementary School Home and School Association is having a dine and donate night 5-9 p.m. March 24 at Grove Street Pub and Grill, 1092 Howertown Road.

Enjoy a meal while supporting the association, with 10% of dine-in sales, excluding alcohol, donated to the organization. The flier must be shown for Sheckler to receive the donation.

Two new businesses are coming to the borough. A barber shop and Chapter Pink Play Café are coming to the Main Street Plaza mini mall at 1492 Main St.

St. Mary’s Catholic Church is offering a presale ticket special for the basket social to be held March 27-29. The special is to purchase five sheets and get one sheet for free. Each sheet of tickets offers 26 chances.

North Catasauqua Planning Commission meetings will be held 5:30 p.m. the fourth Tuesday of each month.

Catasauqua Garden Club is welcoming new members. Meetings take place 1 p.m. the first Wednesday of each month beginning in April at Slovak Center Social Club, 1223 Fifth St.

The Catasauqua High School 2026 mega reunion committee is looking for volunteers to help with event planning, sharing ideas and raising funds for this event, set for July 4 at Catasauqua Park and Playground, 501 American St. The committee is also seeking contact people from each graduating class to spread the word to your classmates.

Fresh ideas are needed to make this an epic event and bring much needed positivity to our community.
