MaryEllen Yaniga-Taras, 83, formerly of Schnecksville, died Feb. 3, 2026, at Luther Crest Health Care Center, Allentown. Born in Coaldale, Schuylkill County, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Mary (Papesh) Yaniga.

She was employed as an administrative assistant at Lucent Technologies, in Allentown, for 30 years before retiring. She was a member of Union United Church of Christ, Neffs and Gold Star Wives of America.

She shared a devoted life with her partner of 30 years, Joe Kroboth

She is survived by a daughter, Lisa A. Lucas (John), of Barto; son, Brian K. Faenza (Stephanie), of Allentown; sisters, Goldean Minnich, of Pittsburgh, Christine Koval (Joseph), of Allentown; grandchildren, Joshua, Ethan, Mason, Olivia, Anthony, Dominic; great-grandchildren, Olen, Conall, Leif, Jayce.

She was predeceased by a son, Kevin John Faenza.

A funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m. Feb. 14, at the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., 4906 Route 309, Schnecksville, with the Rev. Kayli L. Freeman officiating. Family and friends may pay their respects 9-10:30 a.m. before the service.
