Allan P. Palmer
Allan Pierson Palmer, 93, of Schnecksville, died Jan. 14, 2026, at Complete Care at Lehigh Center, Macungie. He was born in Elizabeth, N.J., the son of the late Lewis Lyndon Palmer Sr. and Frances Yeatman (Pierson) Palmer. He was married in 1957 to Janet Ruth Heess.
He lived in Stamford, Conn., then Hockessin, Del. and then Landenberg, Pa., when he was young. In 1950, he graduated from the George School Quaker boarding school in Newtown, where he played on the soccer team. He was a member of the Delta Theta Sigma agricultural fraternity at The Pennsylvania State University and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in agricultural economics in 1954.
He joined the U.S. Army after graduation, achieving the rank of corporal and serving in the Panama Canal Zone.
He spent most of his career working as a district manager for sales, first for the International Harvester Company and later for Woods Equipment Company – a division of the Hesston Corporation.
He enjoyed genealogy, playing games and watching Penn State football and the Philadelphia Phillies. He also loved annual trips to Cape May, N.J. In his retirement, he became an avid collector, specializing in cast iron toy tractors, trucks and cars, and for 20 years, his table was a regular fixture at Shupp’s Grove Antique Market near Adamstown, and Jake’s Flea Market in Barto.
He is survived by his son, Jeffrey A. (Sarah), of Elkton, Md.; daughter Laurie E. Bonner (Steven), of Columbia, Md.; son, Eric L. (Rebecca), of Oxford; grandson, Allan N., of Elkton; nephew; niece; grandniece; grandnephew.
In addition to his wife and his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Paul Cutler and Lewis Lyndon Jr.
He was a lifelong member of the Hockessin Friends Meeting in Hockessin, Del. A memorial service at the Meeting is planned.
